This beautiful Honda gave my disabled husband nearly two years of freedom. The floor is lowered 11”. Hydraulic suspension “kneels feature” LOWERS the van up to six inches on the passenger’s side. This made it possible for my husband to drive his wheelchair independently into and out of the car. There is also an Easy Lock feature which puts the wheelchair rider up front with the driver and automatically locks in without straps. The passenger has full access of radio, CD, A/C, heat, glove, windows etc. Easy Lock can also be used if handicapped person is the driver, as removal and reinstallation of forward captain’s chairs is a snap. A second wheelchair can ride behind the driver and has access to the equipment, too. These four quick-release tie-downs cost $100/ea and they are INCLUDED in the deal. There are two captain chairs for the front seat. At this time the second chair has never been used because the Easy Lock is installed on the front passenger side. However, the captain’s chair is easily re-installed. The back bench seats three additional people. All seats are tan in color and made from very soft leather. There are power outlets in the car for gaming, computers, recharging while on the move or whatever else you need power for. I’m 75 years old and I have driven through the night without getting road weary. We owned a 2003 EX Honda Odyssey before we got the 2008 VMI Mobility Van, and this is the best driving, most comfortable car we ever owned even compared to the original Odyssey. It’s been dependable even on ice and snow. The seats and equipment look nearly new. I’ve tried to keep it as new as possible, but it isn’t quite perfect. There are scratches on the left front bumper and a small scar where my husband’s wheelchair hit a spot of interior plastic. If you crawled under the car I’m sure you would see scratches on the bottom of the skirts that ride about 8-Inches above the road. Currently, the manufacturer’s warranty is only days from expiration and the VMI warrantee is good until July 18, 2011. WE LEAVE IT UP TO YOU TO CHOOSE the extended options! I will include it for a full-price sale. It is a Hoveround and was made for my husband who was 6’4” and weighed 200 lbs. It has a headrest and elevated foot rests. The seat is thick and comfortable with a removable, washable cover. It will fit the Easy Lock (adding this feature to the chair cost over $300). The retail price on the chair is $10,000. I have all the paperwork. We ordered this chair for my husband, not knowing his life would be so short. When it came, he was too weak to use it. So, come grab this fine vehicle as-is for the price advertised OR add $2,100 or $1,850 for the factory warranty extension. REMEMBER, this car has only 23,300 miles on it! BOTH warranty options are four years, so unless you expect to drive this baby a LOT, the $1,850 option may be the better.Whatever you decide is your choice, but Honda will offer this to me only until the middle of February, and it will be fully transferable to you. Gas mileage is good for this kind of vehicle. On the road we commonly got 20 miles per gallon, and as many as 22 mpg freeways. Around town the van averaged 18. A great buy for the safety/comfort.
